The initial attraction started when she saw them working with cows and seeing them around the farm with heavy machinery, she immediately admired their calm temperament and athletic ability.\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIn 1986 Rosanne went to Americana, then the largest western horse show in Europe, here she saw reining performed at the highest level for the first time. This began her journey.\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAfter a number of years learning the trade from a variety of trainers, she was ready for Americana in 1988. Rosanne says a bit gleefully. “I had the horse I’ll Be Great by that time; Cal Cooper came and showed him at Americana and won the big reining. We also won the western pleasure on another horse and I won the western riding.”\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIn subsequent years, Rosanne went on to win multiple amateur championships in reining, pleasure, horsemanship, hunter under saddle, showmanship, western riding, pleasure driving and trail. To those, she added all-around titles from the European Championship of the American Quarter Horse, and she competed on Britain’s team at several World Equestrian Games.\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eFollowing her successful showing career Roseanne decided to start breeding her own horses and by 1999 had purchased her own ranch in Texas, named Sterling with the S brand (as used on the Sternberg cattle in the UK).\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eRosanne has built a successful breeding programme based on innovative ranch, stable and facilities design along with a strong belief in the power of the mare!
